(Sports Network) - Toronto outfielder Melky Cabrera will receive his World Series ring tonight when the Blue Jays kick off a brief two-game series against the San Francisco Giants at Rogers Centre. Cabrera, of course, was in the midst of his best year as a pro and was named the MVP of last years All Star game a season ago with the Giants, However, he was suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug on Aug. 15 and was left off the teams postseason roster. He also disqualified himself for the NL batting title. Cabrera was hitting .346 at the time of the suspension. "Im appreciative of him being here and playing hard every day," San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said. "Whats happened, happened. Thats behind us. I do know hes a good person, he is, and he was, a good teammate. I will thank him for that." Cabrera, who signed a 2-year $16 million deal with the Jays this offseason, is only batting .261 with 12 RBI and 13 runs scored this season. "Im going to play my game like I always do," said Cabrera, whos hitting .333 over his last 10 games. "I know Im going to see a lot of my friends there, and Im going to say hi to those guys, but Ive got to continue to play the game I have been doing so far." The Cabrera storyline will overshadow a pretty solid pitching matchup between two Cy Young Award winners in R.A. Dickey and Barry Zito. Dickey, who won the NL Cy Young Award with the New York Mets last year, has gone 0-3 with a 5.76 ERA over his last four starts and is a mere 2-5 on the year with a 5.06 ERA. The right-handed knuckleballer did not get a decision against the ALs reigning Cy Young Award winner, David Price, and the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, as he gave up three runs (2 earned) and five hits in six innings of his teams 5-4 loss. "Im falling into the pattern of a traditional knuckleballer where theres less than a hit per inning but you have a lot of walks and you have some strikeouts," Dickey said after that outing. "Thats really not my personality with the pitch normally. Im much more efficient usually. "Ive got to try and figure out a way to repeat my delivery in a way that will allow me to throw more strikes, because thats who I am as a knuckleballer, and I need to get back to that and stick my face in there and try to figure it out." The Giants, meanwhile, will counter with lefty Barry Zito, who is 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA. Zito has allowed one run or less in every outing this season except one when he was roughed up for nine runs in 2 2/3 innings. He did not get a decision on Wednesday against Philadelphia, despite a solid showing that saw him surrender one run and four hits in seven innings. Zito, an AL Cy Young Award winner back in 2002 with Oakland, is 5-3 lifetime versus the Jays with a 3.50 ERA in 11 starts. San Francisco, which has won 10 of its last 13 games overall, is 8-4 all-time versus the Blue Jays. Wholesale Yeezy Replica . Vokoun departed practice on Saturday morning after discovering swelling in his thigh. He was taken to a local hospital where the clot was revealed. The club announced the surgery following a 5-3 exhibition loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Cheap Yeezys Real . -- Catcher Brett Hayes has agreed to a $630,000, one-year contract with the Kansas City Royals, avoiding salary arbitration. http://www.wholesaleyeezy.com/ . LOUIS -- Heading into the final stretch of the season, the issues for the Chicago Bears banged-up defence only seem to be getting worse. Discount Yeezys . - NASCAR announced a 33-race schedule for the 2014 Nationwide Series with virtually no changes from this years slate. Wholesale Yeezy Boost . Detroit and Boston are deadlocked, 1-1, and Tigers manager Jim Leyland could be forgiven if he was caught rationalizing instead of dissecting how his club could blow a 5-1 lead late in Game 2. ST. LOUIS -- Throughout a season in which the St. Louis Cardinals have made an art form of inconsistency, manager Mike Mathenys message has been the same: No one game is bigger than the other. However, even Matheny couldnt suppress a smile Monday night when asked if his teams miracle 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds was its biggest of 2016.Im not going to deny there can be lasting effects to a game like this, he said. Its always good to be reminded of what kind of team we can be.Down to its last out, St. Louis scored all five runs to turn a certain loss into a stunning win. The result boosted the Cardinals (59-53) into a tie with Miami for the National Leagues second wild card after the Marlins lost 8-7 in 14 innings to the San Francisco Giants. The Cardinals will attempt to build off that win Tuesday night in Busch Stadium when Mike Leake (8-9, 4.80 ERA) tries to crack the code against his old team.Leake has been rocked for 13 runs in 11 innings against Cincinnati this year, giving up seven runs Thursday in a 7-0 loss at the Great American Ball Park. Since the All-Star break, Leakes ERA is a cringe-worthy 8.18.The 28-year-old right-hander hadnt faced Cincinnati until this year. Leake spent his first 5 1/2 major league seasons with the Reds, then finished last year with the Giants. He will be opposed by Brandon Finnegan, who dominated St. Louis for six scoreless innings last Thursday, yielding just two hits and fanning four without a walk. Finnegan (7-8, 4.dddddddddddd45 ERA) is 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA in six career outings against the Cardinals. The Reds (45-66) will hope that Finnegan can repeat that outing -- and that the bullpen doesnt repeat its endgame implosion of Monday night.Prior to the ninth inning, Cincinnatis bullpen had a 2.08 ERA in its past 26 games, the best in the NL and second only to the New York Yankees in the majors during that span. By contrast, the Reds bullpen ERA going into July 5 was on pace to be one of the five worst in big-league history. Its a miserable feeling, but weve just got to come back tomorrow and win the game and get this feeling out of our system, Cincinnati manager Bryan Price said after the Monday loss.A similar feeling seeped into the Cardinals bones for the better part of three games. St. Louis lost the last two games of a weekend series to the Atlanta Braves, the last-place team in the NL East, by a combined 19-8.And the Reds, the NL Central cellar-dwellers, were one out away from shutting out the Cardinals in 22 straight innings. Instead, St. Louis authored a comeback that in theory could start the big run the team has been waiting for all year.We were fighting to get a positive vibe, Matheny said. We were in a bad spot, but we just continued to play the game. We didnt settle. Guys were in grind mode. They kept swinging. ' ' '
