Blake, who previously served in the leagues department of player safety after playing 20 seasons, replaces Ron Hextall, who left to take the assistant GM position with the Philadelphia Flyers. Blake will assist Dean Lombardi in hockey operations for the Kings and will also serve as GM of Los Angeles AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. The Simcoe, Ont., native spent parts of 14 seasons with the Kings.
