JERUSALEM nike cortez uk , May 17 (Xinhua) -- Ahead of a much-anticipated visitby the U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu finds himself in the middle of two conflictinginterests.

With his political survival at stake, Netanyahu must also find away to keep his American ally satisfied.

Just days before Trump's visit to Israel and the PalestinianAuthority, anticipation is replaced by tension.

In the run-up to the visit of U.S. President Trump to Israel andthe Palestinian Authority, it seems tensions are running higherthan expected.

Days before his arrival, a diplomatic row between the twocountries arose after an American official was quoted asquestioning Israel's claim to one of Judaism's holy sites inJerusalem.

While the two countries will probably be able to overcome thisdisagreement, the spat highlighted the growing gap between theexpectations the Israeli government has of Trump and how therelationship will actually play out.

Gideon Meir, a former senior Israeli diplomat, believes Israelneeds to realize Trump is no longer a candidate on the campaigntrail but an American president with a different perspective.

"Israel has to come back to reality and to deal with PresidentTrump, the president who sits in the Oval Office, not in the TrumpTower in New York -- it's different," said Meir.

Throughout his campaign, Trump said he would move the U.S.embassy to Jerusalem, which Palestinians see as part of theirfuture state.

But as he settled into the White House, he becomes less decisiveon the matter.

Israel annexed East Jerusalem after capturing it in the 1967Mideast War. While it considers the united city it's capital, theannexation has never been recognized by the internationalcommunity.

Moving the U.S. embassy to the city would be a highlycontroversial move that may result in an upsurge in violence in theregion.

Netanyahu heads a right-wing coalition with partners that aremore hard-line than him. A senior partner, leader of the JewishHome party, Naftali Bennett, has been vocal against a Palestinianstate. His party has demanded Netanyahu make similar statements infront of Trump.

Netanyahu has frequently stated publicly he is in favor of anindependent Palestinian state as a result of bilateral negotiationswith Israel.

Meir says Netanyahu may publicly demand the move of the embassyin order to appease his coalition and buy himself politicalstability.

"He wants President Trump to move the embassy to Jerusalem andto try to get to a status quo between Israel and the Palestinians,to continue settlements. He will not insist on a two-statesolution, maybe publicly as a lip service he will do it but inreality he wants to survive as Prime Minister. This is his firstgoal."

On the campaign trail, Trump also said he did not see Israelisettlements in the West Bank as an obstacle to peace between thetwo rivals.

Palestinians see settlements as a severe impediment tostatehood.

After meeting Netanyahu in the White House, Trump moderated hisopinion. At a press briefing with the Israeli leader in Washington, the American president told him "to hold off on settlements alittle bit."

For Israel's right wing, who thought the new Americanadministration would at the very least turn a blind eye tosettlement expansion, the request was the equivalent to a slap inthe face.

For the Israeli Prime Minister it was a wake-up call, Trump wasnot going to make his political life easy.

Netanyahu will be wary to upset his ally during his visit.

The Israeli Prime Minister is coming to realize that Trump'sseemingly pro-Israeli stance may actually be a hindrance to hispolitical goal of managing the conflict with the Palestinianswithout really needing to solve it.

As opposed to the strenuous relationship Netanyahu had withformer U.S. President Barack Obama, the Israeli government can nolonger say they do not have a sympathetic ally in the WhiteHouse.

"Netanyahu will do everything in his power not to go intotension with this President," adds Meir.

Ben Caspit, an Israeli political commentator, wrote that such adeal is "nothing short of a nightmare" for the prime minister.Enditem

DONGGUANG, China, March 11 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Ji Han Sol edged one stroke clear of a crowded leaderboard as play was suspended due to darkness for a second day at the World Ladies Championship here on Friday.

After Thursday's play was interrupted due to heavy rain and storms, half the field was forced to return to complete their first round on the Olazabal Course at Mission Hills Resort Dongguan on Friday morning, meaning a long day in testing conditions for many competitors.

Ji, however, finished her opening round of 68 early on Thursday, meaning she could enjoy a sleep-in before starting her second round at 17:20.

Well rested, she came firing out of the blocks with two birdies in three holes, picking up a shot on the par-four second before holing a wedge shot at the third to hit six-under before play was suspended. The 19-year-old KLPGA Tour player, who is yet to win a professional tournament, sits one clear of compatriot Kim Bo-Kyung, who had a flawless 66, with the 2015 Ricoh Women's British Open runner-up Ko Jin Young a stroke further back in third.

Kim, whose tournament low round included six birdies, said: "My long putting was good and saved my round. I'm so lucky that I made birdies on the par fives. This course is difficult and making long putts from seven to 10 meters always helps. My short putting was not as good and I missed several birdie chances. My wedge play helped a lot today and I made some good sand saves because the lies in the bunkers weren't too bad."

In fourth place on three-under-par, Lin Tzu-Chi of Chinese Taipei is one of only two non-South Korean players in the top 10, along with Celine Herbin of France in a s.
