Thomas, the son of former NHLer Steve Thomas, played one game in the NHL for the Rangers last season and was held pointless. The 21-year-old forward was selected in the second round, 40th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Rangers. Kristo split last season between the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL and the University of North Dakota. In nine games with the Bulldogs, he picked up three assists and two penalty minutes.
