Gilmour, who played 21 seasons in the NHL for seven different teams, joined the Frontenacs as head coach in 2008 and became general manager in 2011. He stepped away from his job as head coach and hired Gill, a former NHL defenceman and Toronto Maple Leafs teammate, as his replacement in 2011. "Although we arent renewing assistant coach Jeff Reids contract at this time, we will encourage our new head coach to give Jeff serious consideration when hiring his assistant coach," Gilmour said Monday in a statement posted on the teams website.
