capable of helping quarterback Jameis Winston end the team's long playoff drought.Tackle Vita Vea is the latest addition to a reconstructed unit that's been a liability for most of the past decade http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/ryan-jensen-jersey , joining the Bucs as the 12th overall pick in the opening round of the NFL draft on Thursday night.General manager Jason Licht described the 6-foot-4, 347-pound Vea as a dominant run-stopper who has "freakish athleticism" for his size."He's going to help us in a lot of areas," Licht said. "Great kid. ... Very tough and loves football. We think he's going to be a great fit here."The former University of Washington standout will be plugged into a revamped defensive line anchored by six-time Pro Bowl tackle Gerald McCoy, bolstered by last month's trade for pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul and the signing of Beau Allen, Vinny Curry and Mitch Unrein in free agency."It's really exciting," Vea said by video link from Dallas, where he attended the draft. "I took a visit there. I felt like I had a great connection with the coaches ... I am happy to be in this situation."The Bucs ranked last in the NFL with 23 sacks a year ago. Upgrading the defensive line and a porous secondary are among the top priorities after going 5-11 and missing the playoffs for the 10th consecutive season.Winston is entering his fourth season after being drafted No. 1 overall in 2015. The offense has improved dramatically since the young quarterback entered the league, however the defense has not been able to hold up its end.In addition to having an anemic pass rush, the Bucs finished 32nd in total defense at just over 378 yards per game and also allowed opponents to convert a league-high 48 percent of the time on third down.Licht has done some wheeling and dealing to bring in fresh talent, acquiring Pierre-Paul in a trade from the New York Giants and signing Allen and Curry in free agency after they helped Philadelphia win the Super Bowl in February.Vea Womens Chris Godwin Jersey , the 2017 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, was still available Thursday night after Tampa Bay traded the seventh overall pick to Buffalo, dropping five spots in the selection order while also receiving a pair of second-round picks in this year's draft. The move ensured the Bills of getting the quarterback they wanted, Wyoming's Josh Allen, and gives the Bucs three premium picks — No. 38, 53 and 56 overall — in the second round Friday night. It also eases the sting of not having a third-round pick, which was sent to the Giants in the Pierre-Paul trade."Obviously, we all really liked Vita's tape, Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, extremely powerful man Authentic DeSean Jackson Jersey ," coach Dirk Koetter said."We talked to him at the (NFL) Combine, we brought him in on one of our 30 visits. We found out that he loves football, he's a family man, he's incredibly gifted athletically," Koetter added. "We had him high on our board, and we were able to trade back ... pick up two second-round picks and still get one of the top guys on our board. It's a win-win." Well, I’ll go ahead and let everyone know, this is not a pretty review. Tampa Bay essentially failed in all five keys to victory that I outlined prior to the baffling blowout loss to Chicago. It was a game where nothing went right. Seriously. Mitchell Trubisky had thrown just nine touchdowns to ten interceptions in his career before he got a chance to play the Buccaneers. Offensively, it wasn’t any better against a Bears defense that pressured Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston all game.1. Limiting turnoversA week after turning the ball over four times against Pittsburgh, the Buccaneers lost possession of the ball three more times against Chicago.Fitzpatrick tossed another interception after three against the Steelers while Jameis Winston threw two picks during his 2018 debut. With a defense that is one of the worst in the NFL Womens Vita Vea Jersey , Tampa Bay has to take extra care of the football going forward. 2. Slowing down the Chicago pass-rushTampa Bay allowed three sacks a week ago and they surrendered a season-high four sacks against the Bears vaunted pass-rush. It’s been an ugly two weeks for this offensive line after a solid start to the season. Now, it seems like we’re left with more questions than answers. Were the first two weeks a fluke? Or were the last two weeks a fluke? It’s safe to say that this is a puzzle that needs to be solved quickly. 3. Flustering Mitchell TrubiskyConsidering that Trubisky looked like the second coming of Joe Montana on Sunday, Tampa Bay failed here big time. The defense generated just one sack (in the first quarter) and three quarterback hits all day. That allowed Trubisky to stand in the pocket and deliver passes. He finished the game with 364 yards and six touchdowns. How will the defense respond after getting absolutely picked apart by one of the worst quarterbacks on their schedule? 4. Scoring touchdowns in the red zoneAfter a 2/5 performance in the red zone against Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay wasn’t much better against the Bears. The Buccaneers finished 2/3 in the red zone and were forced to settle for a field goal during the first quarter from the Chicago 13-yard line. The touchdown the Bucs scored didn’t come until the fourth quarter when this game was well out of a reach. You have to wonder if this team will take a step forward or stay relatively the same in the red zone with Jameis Winston leading the offense. 5. Finding more balance on offenseThe running game has been a problem for Tampa Bay since week one. The Buccaneers had 112 rushing yards in their season-opening win over the New Orleans Saints. In the three weeks since then, the Bucs have recorded a total of 166 yards on the ground. The offensive line has failed to consistently pave running lanes and the running backs haven’t been great at hitting them either.Tampa Bay ran 18 times for 60 yards (3.3 YPC) against Chicago. They haven’t had a rush longer than 23 yards all season and have scored just one touchdown on the ground, courtesy of Fitzpatrick.
